AI for Filmmakers
Filmmaking is entering a new creative era. The tools that once required entire departments, months of pre-production, and budgets out of reach for most independent filmmakers are now available to anyone with a vision and the knowledge to use them.
Most filmmakers are still working within traditional pipelines. Not because they lack talent, but because no one has shown them a structured, professional way to integrate generative AI into the craft they already know. The result is a growing gap between those who are redefining what cinema can be and those who are watching it happen from the outside.
Generative AI is transforming how films are conceived, designed, and produced. Storyboards and concept visuals that used to take days can now be generated in minutes. Cinematic scenes can be prototyped before a single camera rolls. New narrative formats and visual languages are emerging that simply did not exist before. Production barriers that once stopped great ideas from becoming real films are being dismantled.
MIAT’s AI for Filmmakers program is built for the filmmaker who wants to lead this shift, not follow it. You will learn how to integrate generative AI into your creative process in a way that is structured, repeatable, and entirely yours, without losing the cinematic sensibility that defines your work. This is not about replacing filmmaking. It is about expanding what filmmaking can do, to learn a new mindset
